Purpose of Role:

We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Azure SQL Administrator with expertise in using Synapse to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in SQL development, as well as exposure to NoSQL.

In this role, you will be responsible for designing and implementing databases to support business applications, as well as developing, testing, and optimizing SQL statements and stored procedures. You will also be responsible for collaborating with other members of the development team to ensure that the databases support the needs of the applications.

Job Role and Responsibilities:

• Manage and maintain Azure SQL Databases and Synapse environments.
• Design and implement data integration and ETL pipelines using Synapse.
• Monitor and optimize the performance of Azure SQL Databases and Synapse.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to Azure SQL Databases and Synapse.
• Collaborate with other teams to develop and implement data integration and ETL solutions.
• Research data and make recommendations.
• Maintain documentation and support for Azure SQL Databases and ETL processes.

Skills and Experience Required:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field (preferred, but not required)
• Strong background in SQL development
• Experience with a variety of database management systems, incl SQL & NoSQL
• Experience using Synapse or SSIS.
• Strong knowledge of Azure SQL Databases and Synapse features and capabilities.
• Exposure to Azure, Notebooks, Databricks, PowerBI, Python would be high regarded.
