BI Front-End Developer

Inchcape is one of the world’s largest independent automotive distributors and retailers. We manage the end-to-end distribution, logistics and customer experience for the best car brands in the world. We are recruiting a talented and driven Power BI Developer. As a Power BI Developer, you will drive the development and migration of reporting and data sets in Power BI. This will include assisting in the data model development in Azure SQL Database, Azure Analysis Service and DAX. You will champion the development and maintenance of Power BI dashboards and training the Business Intelligence Team in the use of Power BI. Along with MS SQL Server, Azure and Power BI, you will also be instrumental in determining other products and services required to implement an innovative and effective business intelligence service.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Developing visual reports, dashboards and KPI scorecards using Power BI desktop
  • Configure data intake using Power Query and its formula language, ‘M’
  • Implement row level security on data and understand application security layer models in Power BI
  • Proficient in making DAX queries in Power BI desktop
  • Utilize advance level calculations on the data set
  • Quickly demonstrate understanding of business use cases and implications of various data structures and visualization options
  • Connecting to data sources, importing data and transforming data for Business Intelligence
  • Responsible for design methodology and project documentation o Adept in developing, publishing and scheduling Power BI reports as per the business requirements
  • Should have knowledge and experience in prototyping, designing, and requirement analysis
  • Able to integrate Power BI reports into other applications using embedded analytics like Power BI service (SaaS), or by API automation
  • In collaboration with subject matter experts and data stewards, ensure the enterprise data is accurate, complete, and reliable
  • Power BI development and administration

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Experience with Microsoft Power BI software is a must.
  • Experience with JIRA project management software is an advantage.

Other Qualifications:

  • Agile delivery qualifications (e.g. SAFE; Six Sigma) are an advantage.
  • Project Management qualifications (e.g. APM / PRINCE2 / CAPM) is an advantage

Relevant Experience:

  • 2+ years of BI analysis, report development, and data modelling experience
  • 2+ years of experience with data warehousing, BI, and reporting tools (i.e. Power BI, Tableau)
  • Advanced-level knowledge of the Microsoft Power Platform Suite
  • Experience developing/working with CI/CD for BI solutions on the Power Platform
  • Ability to balance the demands of multiple projects while pushing the intellectual envelope in search of solutions to complex problems.
  • Experience demonstrating breadth, creativity, and innovation
