Global Solutions Owner- SAP VMS and Applications

Purpose of Role:

As a member of the Global Functional Authority team, you will own the functional solutions - defining minimum configuration and process guidelines in line with the latest Internal Control framework and Global Data Standards. This role requires you to work collaboratively with the Functional team, various business teams and development teams to ensure the strategic direction of Inchcape is maintained through best practices. This individual will apply proven communication and problem-solving skills to guide and assist the Functional team user group on issues related to the solutions discovery, blueprint, design, development, and deployment of mission-critical information systems.

Job Role and Responsibilities:

 

Operational Management
• Actively participate in the governance processes of the core ERP and various applications to ensure that market requirements are thoroughly considered, and the most appropriate solution is provided, in conjunction with the stream architects.
• Support the internal Audit team to ensure (where practical) that the "internal Control" framework is embedded within the core ERP and applications and provide ongoing support as the controls evolve.
• Collaborate effectively as a community (working with colleagues across the globe) ensuring that the governance model is implemented, ideas are shared, and new innovations are considered.
• Gather requirements related to projects, Business as usual changes; review and/or develop functional specifications and work with technical resources to complete configuration, development and testing.
• Provide support to the technical and implementation teams for new market implementations as agreed with the Central program management stream (Initial discovery, UAT, Training, Support).
• Guidance and management of configuration activities as required from time to time (dependant on the solution).
• Provide support and guidance on integration of other modules to SAP VMS
• Provide support to security specialists for VMS related transactions, with consideration for segregation of duties.
 
Strategy, Planning, Acquisition and Deployment
• Participate in planning of software and integration projects and corresponding strategies between business units and implementation teams.
• Research and make recommendations on SAP VMS Solutions design architecture
• Document the processes as they relate to the Inchcape SAP VMS, logistics and ancillary applications templates and maintain versions
• Serve as a leader in promoting systems changes or enhancements of business processes through documentation and training plans, driving them to successful completion
 
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
 Knowledge and Experience
• In depth understanding of standard Automotive Distribution processes
• Functional configuration / Implementation experience with SAP VMS (MM,SD) including experience in lead project roles, in particular a good understanding of action matrices, vehicle statuses, pricing procedures in both MM and SD and the integration into FICO.
• Minimum 5 years experience in a combination of Automotive Distribution related roles.
• Hands-on experience with SAP VMS (MM,SD) configuration and solutions design
• SAP query writing skills

• SAP ERP 6.0 Certification in any of the below modules
- IS-A-VMS
- SD
- MM
