NCI Security Engineer Lead

Purpose of Role:

The NCI Security Engineer Lead works with the NCI Security Operations team to maintain the confidentiality, availability and integrity of Inchcape’s IT infrastructure, systems, and data. The NCI Security Engineer Lead will play a vital part in safeguarding our organization's data and systems by ensuring timely and effective application of security patches and vulnerability remediation across our IT infrastructure. The role will work closely with the Cybersecurity team to identify vulnerabilities, prioritize patch deployments, and minimize disruption to daily operations.

Job Roles and Responsibilities:

• Conduct regular vulnerability assessments of IT systems, applications, and network devices using industry standard scanning tools.
• Analyze identified vulnerabilities, prioritizing them based on severity, exploitability, and potential impact
on business operations.
• Research and evaluate available patches, workarounds, and mitigation strategies for identified
vulnerabilities.
• Apply security patches across various systems and applications using automated tools and manual
processes as needed.
• Develop and implement patch and vulnerability remediation plans, considering dependencies, testing
requirements, and rollback strategies.
• Oversee the deployment of security patches and track remediation progress across the IT environment.
• Collaborate with IT teams to ensure smooth integration of vulnerability remediation activities.
• Investigate and respond to security incidents triggered by vulnerabilities.
• Stay up-to-date on emerging security threats, vulnerabilities, and patching best practices.
• Contribute to the development and improvement of the organization's vulnerability management
program.
• Document patch deployment procedures, vulnerability assessments, remediation activities, and reporting
procedures.
• Communicate effectively with stakeholders, including the security team, IT operations, and management,
regarding vulnerability risks and remediation efforts

Skills and Experience Required:

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in vulnerability management, security assessment, and patch
deployment.
• In-depth understanding of vulnerability management frameworks and methodologies (e.g., NIST
Cybersecurity Framework, MITRE ATT&CK).
• Proficient in vulnerability scanning tools (e.g., Nessus, Qualys, Tenable) and scripting languages (e.g.,
Python, PowerShell).
• Experience with vulnerability management platforms and automation solutions is a plus.
• Ability to prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure high-paced environment and make sound
decisions.
• Good understanding of the organization’s goals and objectives.
• Strong interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills and ability to present ideas in a user-friendly
language.
• Able to conduct research into issues and products as required, and document outcomes.
• Highly self-motivated and directed.
• Strong customer service orientation.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Customer-focused mind-set, with demonstrated skill in managing expectations, providing proactive status
updates, and producing high-quality work product.
