Purpose of Role:

Inchcape is a leading global player in the automotive services sector operates in the distribution, retail and logistics markets.
The purpose of the Senior Backend developer is to help build an innovative B2B marketplace for the
Automotive industry based on the SAP Commerce Cloud platform (formerly known as Hybris).
This role requires high technical skills as they will be making important technical decisions, but also being part of a Scrum team, coordinating with other senior developers and mentoring junior members of the team.
This position will report to the Head of Engineering and will work closely with front-end and back-end developers, Product Owners, QA, and other members of the team on a daily basis.

Job Roles and Responsibilities:

• Design and build a high-performing, responsive, maintainable, and scalable SaaS B2B platform.
• Work closely with other Backend developers and FE Devs. Be a team player and mentor less experienced members of the team.
• Conduct code reviews and look after code quality and security.
• Propose and implement new tools, best practices, and methodologies within the SAP Commerce Cloud platform.
• Use of Jira and Confluence to keep work status and technical documentation updated.
• Write unit tests and keep good code coverage.
• Monitor the overall quality and performance of the application.

Skills and Experience Required:

• 3+ years’ experience working on web applications with Java, J2EE and Spring framework.
• 1+ years’ Hybris/SAP Commerce Cloud experience (certification is a plus).
• 2+ years’ experience with TDD and unit test frameworks such as Junit.
• 1+ years’ experience mentoring backend Devs.
• 1+ years’ experience with microservice architecture and developing APIs.
• Experience with performance testing e.g.: Selenium scripts / JMeter is a bonus.
• Experience operating in a SCRUM team is ideal but not required.
