Purpose of Role

You will be an integral part of building out and growing the DevOps capability in this function of the business. You will be a part of establishing best practices and challenging the status quo. The purpose of the DevOps Engineer is to build and maintain the cloud infrastructure for our product’s SaaS platform and to design, build and maintain the platform’s CI/CD pipeline in order to have rapid deployments of the application and zero application downtimes. This position will report to the Head of Engineering and will work closely with the back-end developers, Architects, QA and other members of the team on a daily basis.

 JOB ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 

• Analyse, refactor and maintain the current CI/CD pipeline, making improvements to the overall process

• Define best tools for devops and practices for automation of processes

• Work closely with backend engineers and tech leads. Be a team player and mentor less experienced members of the team

• Understand SAP Commerce Cloud’s infrastructure and environments in order to have the necessary discussions to support our platform needs

• Be the person responsible of all infrastructure and CI/CD needs

• Use of Jira and Confluence to keep work status and detailed technical documentation updated

• Monitor the overall quality and performance of the application from the infrastructure point of view – optimize for scale

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: 

• 3+ years’ experience building CI/CD pipelines and workflows using tools like Jenkins, Azure DevOps, etc.

• Demonstrable experience managing cloud environments (Azure / AWS / GCP / other)

• 1+ years’ experience working with containers and microservices

• 1+ years’ experience with infrastructure as code tools such as: Terraform / CloudFormation / Azure Resource manager / other

• Excellent communications skills

• Willingness to learn
