Applications Factory Manager

Purpose of Role

The Applications Manager is one of the management members of Business Applications. This as a KEY role is oriented to globally implement and maintain applications on a DevOps environment. This individual will provide technical leadership and consulting across the organization, from strategic decision making down to the project planning level and delivery realization conducting a team of dedicated people, also, this role will provide guidance on architecture, strategy, and cost optimization, generating realistic delivery plans with estimations of resources, skills, cost according to the scope.

Job Role and Responsibilities:

• This role will work closely with the project teams, IT leaders, business teams (Globally) & service delivery
area on the DDC (Colombia and Philippines)
• The services will be provided to worldwide Inchcape markets.
• Manage, coach, coordinate to the development and operations team for both DDCs (Colombia and
• Will support, design, and do/lead/realise development and support on strategic initiatives according to
the defined enterprise architecture.
• Must participate on the design and quotation process for business applications (architecture, cost,
technology, resources, and tools).
• Active participation in projects, designing the technical solution and oversee the development and
deployment process to align the implementation with the defined architecture.

Strategy & Planning
• Provide and apply consulting expertise, knowledge, direction, and assistance to development and support team with CI/CD team.
• Be part of the leadership members of the DevSecOps to define and realise strategy and structure on delivery.
• Control and map the integrations to have a controlled environment and high reusability for new projects when needed.
• Document, communicate, and enforce the development best practices, guidelines and policies.
• Conduct research on emerging technologies in support of business applications development efforts and recommend technologies, techniques, libraries and more that will increase cost effectiveness and flexibility.
• Develop, and oversee implementation of end-to-end integrated systems.
• Develop and execute test plans to check right behaviour of business applications and integrations. Report on findings, make recommendations for improvement and realise their implementation.

Operational Management:
• Collaborate with end users and executive management to define and estimate the business requirements for complex business application development and gain buy-in for all Applications and integrations development pipeline and plans.
• Be part of development and support team on projects (delivery focus), collaboration on support on business applications, development and innovation.
• Review new and existing projects, business applications design, and procurement/outsourcing plans for compliance with defined standards and architectural plans.
• Provide guidance to junior members of the team and/or business team if required
•Actively collaborate with project teams on architecture reviews, obstacles unblocking and guiding on alternatives for implementations and solutioning when required.
• Lead in the DDC’s Business applications the integrations services.

Formal Education & Certification:
• Four-year university degree or college diploma in the field of computer science and/or +10 years equivalent work experience.
• Preferred certifications on architecture (microservices, SOA, etc.)
• Programming knowledge .net core, angular and react, as well as database esquema design
• Broad knowledge on DevSecOps tools
• Broad experience on delivery (projects and operations

Skills and Experience Required:

Knowledge and Experience
• 3-5 years successful delivering applications and integrations development and operational excellence.
• Exceptional knowledge of applications and integrations management, maintenance, optimization/transformation, development, and delivery within an enterprise environment.
• Broad knowledge of integrations lifecycle.
• At least +5 years of experience on DevSecOps technologies
• 5 years managing applications lifecycle.
• 5 years of experience on development and operations of middleware/ REST APIs/ web-mobile applications, and others
• If possible, knowledge of serverless architectures and it’s development.
• Broad knowledge of Azure application components to be used on integrations, logic apps, event hub, BUS, etc.
• Broad knowledge of Apigee on GCP
• Experience presenting development and operation implications and estimations (cost, time, resources) to all levels of management.

• Experience on middleware technologies, Integration Bus, Messaging, API Gateways, etc.
• Strong knowledge about DevSecOps tools, such as Jenkins, Nagios, GithUB, GitLab, Maven, Swarm, Cucumber, Kubernetes, Dockers, and others.
• Strong understanding of Cloud architecture (SaaS, PaaS, IaaS, IaC)

Work Conditions
• Available to work in different time zones.
